I am a psychologist and a psychoanalyst practicing in northern New Jersey. My practice consists of infants, children, adolescents, adults, and couples.
I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Long Island University, where I conducted doctoral research on attachment (published in the International Journal of Behavioral Development).
I also graduated as a certified psychoanalyst from The New Jersey Institute for Training in Psychoanalysis (NJI).
In addition, I hold an MA in Forensic Psychology from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a certificate in group analytic psychotherapy from the Institute of Group Analysis, London, UK in conjunction with the School of Psychotherapy at St. Vincent's University Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
I'm affiliated with two psychoanalytic institutes in New Jersey: NJI and the Center for Psychotherapy & Psychoanalysis of New Jersey (CPPNJ). At NJI, I chair the Training Board, am a member of the Board of Trustees and Executive Board, teach several courses, and act as a control/supervisor. I'm also the editor of NJI's magazine, Viewpoints in Psychoanalysis.
My interests include transference and countertransference in personality disorders, developmental psychoanalytic theory, Freudian and Lacanian theory, and the intersection of psychoanalysis and the arts.
I'm fluent in Spanish and proficient in Italian and French.
I am not currently taking new patients, but I am available for clinical supervision and clinical and supervisory consultations.
Below you'll find the courses I'm currently teaching, in addition to courses I've previously taught (all courses were taught at NJI unless otherwise indicated).
